Wanted to share some alpha on Lyra the Game @nocartridgeinc, an upcoming gaming NFT project created by Daniel Weinand - co-founder of Shopify.

First tweet went out in February 2021, so it's clear that this project and game has been in the works for quite some time now.

Fully functional games can take anywhere from 2 - 8 years to build, depending on complexity and team size.

The Discord server was created in October 2021, so while the community has been around for > 1 year, things have been pretty lowkey.

It isn't until this year where the team began to share more details about Lyra. More to come on this in the coming tweets.

Meet @danielweinand who co-founded Shopify and led them to IPO (worth almost $60B today), worked for startups and in venture capital while focusing on crypto infrastructure, before creating No Cartridge Inc (Canadian based company) in 2019.

He's also a composer and a G at poker.

Lyra the Game is a project by No Cartridge Inc. - a game studio company. Daniel creates the music for the game and the trailers.

To play the game, you ONLY need 1 genesis creature (NFT). We can expect an "unlimited collection" to release with airdrops.

For the game, there will be an "auto battling system" with 30 creatures in total, 3 abilities per creature (passive, active, ultimate).

Max creatures for a team is 5! Those that mint 1 creature/NFT will be airdropped 4 from the unlimited collection.

There are battle clients that will help you form teams, roles and utility for specific creatures, stat modifiers, types, XP system, and biomes.

Pixel art is great, too.

For the mint, the total supply is 10K, 4K reserved for whitelist, 6K public.

Mint price is .04 ETH for WL and is set to increase by .01 ETH for every 2K supply minted, max .07 ETH mint price for token ID's 8 - 10K.

The mint date has been changed from April 9th to May 1st, which gives the team more time to share information about the project.

Also, the mint structure and pricing was slightly adjusted. Reveal is scheduled to happen one week after the mint begins.

Overall, I'm looking forward to learning more about @nocartridgeinc, the game they are building, and the innovations they will bring to Web3.
