Me: “So, what are you building?”
Them: “Well, it’s basically an NFT project…”
Some Sunday thoughts.
🧵 on my major two suggestions.

This 🧵 was prompted by an exchange with @shanicucic96 today. Credit to him and the team for what they’re building.
But the point is: it’s never been easier to find out what works and what doesn’t.

There are some great people in the space providing some great guidance.
I’m literally talking about step-by-step tips on how to build a great NFT project. So, what are my major two tips?

1⃣ Research and plan
As the saying goes: failing to plan is simply planning to fail
Part of planning should be to understand where the space is at & to learn from the mistakes of other projects.
Build the right team & get prof advice, including from other project founders.

If you don’t, then I’d say you’re:
1. Lazy - inefficient
2. Naive - inexperienced
3. Greedy - thinking of you at all costs
Or a combination of the above. Just my mental model.
I know it’s harsh but, at the end of the day, not everyone is cut out to be a project founder.

2⃣ Honour community
I purposefully chose “honour”. Community is the backbone of web3 and should be the same for your project.
Build & listen to it, especially if you’re taking responsibility for its money.
Have clear docs and communication. In fact, over-communicate!

This space is nothing without the people in it. If you don’t fully appreciate that then consider #1 again.
Also, for those that have made it, give back what you can. Have an abundance mentality. There’s so much unexplored territory in this “wild west”.

TL;DR: My major two suggestions for new NFT projects:
1⃣ Research and plan - build a great team and get prof advice (inc from successful founders). Don’t be lazy, naive or greedy.
2⃣ Honour community - community is your backbone. Have clear docs and over-communicate.
