Do you want to launch your first digital product?

Before you focus on professionalism and perfection, understand why people buy and how good products are created.

I learned this after launching my email course.

Here's what you need to know: 🧵
1/6 I'm sure you've heard about Ship 30 for 30.

The $800 writing course.

What did it teach to a fellow writer:

To build a consistent writing habit.

It didn't promise any get-rich-quick scheme or give you the SECRET to create infinite money.

Think about this
2/6 But you don't just go and ask someone

What do you want?

Instead of repeating, I highlighted this great wisdom from the book I'm currently reading, The Swordless Samurai amzn.to/3pvbXmS (my affiliate link)

To best understand their problems, immerse yourself in them.
3/6 We build solutions for who we were yesterday.

That's how this thread was born.

You're not building and selling complex, mind-blowing solutions.

You're selling outcomes.

Don't know how to write a blog post -> Publish your first post and feel happy about it.

Here's how
4/6 Other great examples:

Everyone Can Build a Twitter Audience from @dvassallo, the first course I ever bought: dvassallo.gumroad.com/l/twitter-audience

@writes_eve also made a course for Twitter evearnold.gumroad.com/l/nfvyg

These are not sponsored links or anything. I simply appreciate their work
5/6 Use every opportunity you can to get feedback.

At the end of each email from my free course, Blog Like a Boss, I kindly ask people to send me their thoughts on the course.

What they liked/disliked.

I do the same on Twitter/Medium.
6/6 I reply to every comment there or on my blog posts.

It's a lot of work.

But probably the only way to know your audience better and build an even better product for them.

I gather every response in a sheet I later use to inspire my writing and my next product.
To summarize:

1. Talk to real buyers
2. Immerse yourself in their problem
3. understand why they bought
3. come up with a solution you wish existed
5. use the feedback to build your product

I hope you've found this thread helpful.
