The main event was DEAD ☠️

Last year, there were multiple levels bursting at the seams with people,

Talks were going on across the city,

And everyone was trying to get in to hear their favourite speakers.

This year, almost nobody bought a ticket to the actual event,

(Myself included)

And anyone I spoke to that went said that the talks were given to empty rooms,

And there was no value in attending at all.

So then why did everyone come to NYC?

Well, the REAL event happened AROUND the event.

.@pudgypenguins, @DeGodsNFT, @akidcalledbeast and even groups of creators (shoutout @NFT_GOD & @BingBongNFTNYC)

Threw their own events and brought the energy to NFT NYC.

This year it wasn’t about the hype of NFTs,

It was about meeting people 1-on-1 that you’ve seen for the past year,

Creating content, speaking on spaces & running NFT projects.

For me, putting faces to names was the real value of NFT NYC.

Don’t worry, you definitely didn’t miss the intense hype of an ApeFest driven NFT NYC.

But as an Australian that travelled 20 hours to get to NYC,

Getting to spend time with awesome creators and hang out as friends,

Made the trip 100% worth it.

If there’s one thing I’d take away from NFT NYC,

It’s that the people who are still showing up are in Web3 for the right reasons.

Everyone wants to see Web3 succeed and is contributing value in their own way.

With these creators & founders leading Web3, the future is bright.
