Anyone who has been following the debate around Softwar should definitely read @evoskuil’s excellent book: “Cryptoeconomics: Fundamental Principles of Bitcoin” It challenges a lot of widely held beliefs I don’t agree with all of it but it’s 👌

I've heard more than once that it's one of the best books in Bitcoin. Recently got it and looking forward to reading it soo.

Bitcoin is a cryptoeconomic system. Both parts are required. "Crypto" is not enough; you need the "economic" part too. If you don't understand why, read this book:

This is the best Bitcoin book in the world so far, but there is definitely a lot more to say.

Others have written about the nuances and implications of the above at length, most notably Erik Cason and Eric Voskuil. I recommend reading their respective works—Cryptosovereignty & Cryptoeconomics —in full if you want to understand said nuances and implications deeply.

I'd suggest you to read all that cryptoeconomics wiki (or to buy @evoskuil's physical book where that's collected). I still don't agree on minor (mostly terminological points), but it's one of the best texts on this.

This is one of the best #bitcoin books ever written. It helped keep me out of the fiat gutter.
