I read this book after Vitalik recommended it. There's definitely some valuable information in it, but Graeber's lack of economic understanding leaves the book largely toothless. I'd recommend Rothbard's history of money series if you're interested.

Rothbard's What Has government done to our money is a great short read. His History of Money and Banking in the US is more detailed. I also really like Ferdinand Lips' Gold Wars.
