Fear-based models: The future only exists in math models and sims…many of which are programmed by academics seeking to prove a thesis and get money for prolonged research. Are you sure you can trust people who chase their tails and directly need funding for the chase?
could be any topic: cancer prevention? exercise? erosion? earthquakes? volcanic eruptions? sugar consumption? beef diet? - who is really responsible and what evidence do they present? Doomsday scenarios are ridiculous and modern humans should know better.
What I really enjoy- extreme stances with massive contradictory base believers. 1) Smoking vegans, caring about the animals but poisoning groundwater with cigs. derp. 2) health gurus who use steroids. derp. 3) people who go on facebook to rant about privacy. derp.
who is funding these math models and why? rich business owner, under huge pressure to fund a pet project or risk sanctions? credit card company lobbyists telling congress that #btc is bad news? LOL. The smiley faces on TV don’t actually care about your feelings, just your $€
The reality is much more chaotic: we are adrift in the cosmos on a tectonically active planet, which has been tectonically active for billions of years. we are spinning around and lots of events happen, 2-3% of humans have psychosis, genetics are partially deterministic…
every species on earth adapted to get here, today. or- it failed. that’s the way reality works folks! you make choices and your family, friends and offspring either gain advantage from that or they lose from a bad choice. that’s it.
you will potentially have to migrate. it’s not pleasant to live in some places for economic or environmental reasons. native and indigenous tribes survived the australian outback, the american southwest, africa, the arctic circle, and everywhere in between hot and cold.
