Annie Dillard’s ‘Total Eclipse’ was one of my favorites while I was in school. If you haven’t already read it, I highly recommend.

One of my favourite essays is Annie Dillard's "Total Eclipse": [link] What I like about it is that it manages to evoke something of what a (total!) eclipse is like. I would have thought that near impossible, but she at least comes near to capturing the memory
