The Carpoolers in NFTs.
A 🧵 on patience, failure and work.
In Sept 2020 I was introduced to the @foundation team and was told about the ideas of NFTs. I jumped on the opportunity and was one of the first dozen artists on the platform with 3 Carpoolers. But. It was TOO early.

In Sept 2020 I was introduced to the @foundation team and was told about the ideas of NFTs. I jumped on the opportunity and was one of the first dozen artists on the platform with 3 Carpoolers. But. It was TOO early.
I quit and went back to the nothingness of the pandemic in late 2020. I went on to publish a 4th version of the carpoolers and kept pushing other projects.
Jump forward to February 2021. I hear the rattle of NFTs and decide to try to get into Foundation again but had to wait to find an invite. @bernabephoto gave me one and that started the journey in NFTs again. I minted the work in April with the help of @AssemblyCurated
April, May, June passed (and frustration accumulated and I quit) and it was until July that we finally received a bid on a Carpoolers from @dgntec! It was a sensation like no other. A small sense of opportunity to do something new.
2 weeks later the work had found homes with collectors that have now become dear friends. A body of work that traversed millions of viewers through the internet, had finally found a state of being digital original artworks. I remember reading a text that made me understand web3:
McKenzie Wark says: "What might be more interesting is to consider how the very properties of spreadability that characterize digital objects can be turned to advantage to make them collectable as well."
"Paradoxically, an object whose image is very widely spread is a rare object, in the sense that few objects have their images spread widely." And that made consider the possibilities of NFTs for us in our digital world, as artists and humans in general.
All this to say that I quit the first time. Quit a second time. And now stayed forever. For one year now, I´ve been hard at work with @obscuradao and @fellowshiptrust to offer a lesser "difficult" experience into NFT to photographers from around the world.
