It's one of my favorite books. After that, read the Baroque cycle. It's even more proof of work. It's a kind of prequel to cryptonomicon. A true masterpiece imo.

If you're down for a 1000+ page deep dive I can highly suggest Cryptonomicon by Neil Stephenson. It's got World War II crytography, high-tech finance, and some bonus treasure hunting. It's a long trip, but it's excellent the whole way through.
