1/20 On AI Art and Life In West America by @rainisto
(Part 2)

The first cohesive collection that strikes the minds of collectors across the ecosystem.

Up until now ppl wrote off AI art, one reason because there was little with BOTH conceptual and aesthetic public appeal.
2/20 LIWA casually shows you a color photography story of some recognizable place and time, and yet, still embodies the presumption of creation by an AI

This is most noticeable through the artefacts (extra hands and added car parts) which give a sense of displacement...
3/20 Quick story

I recently learned that the brain doesnt remember where things are, instead it creates a map of expectation 4 where things should be when you return.

Come back to your desk? Your brain only takes notice if that pen is not where it modeled it.

It's NOT a memory
4/20

This collection gives me that little smash of awareness of out of place antiquities and artefacts in a place.

It feels like a real photo and yet imbues a sense of awareness to the scene that you normally don't get in a photograph.

A dose of surrealism.
5/20 I feel this collection at a deeper level.

It's mystifying and nostalgic. Like these haunting memories I can’t remember if I experienced or not.

Like I’m seeing my parents living their younger lives.

Like I’m seeing places I might have been or people I may have known.
6/20 And yet, I know it’s not real.

Hard to look away.

On top of that… Roope took almost a year to create LIWA with over 35000 outputs with hand editing to create this collection

It could be awhile before this type of dedication can be emulated.
7/20 Why this is the grail collection?

Im bullish AI, Im bullish AI art, Im bullish AI art collections, Im bullish Braindrops and Im bullish @rainisto

But also
a. Cohesive collection
b. No dilution coming
c. Low supply
d. increasing liquidity
e. Great artist building his craft
8/20 On The Narrative of LIWA

As a collector, I believe collections speak differently to everyone. How I view this collection may be different than how you view it, vs somebody else, and so on.

My goal is to highlight pieces that tell different parts of the story AS I SEE it.
9/20

Once For All

this “Greece” era post-photo envelops the many archetypes of a single young man full of testosterone during this era and in my mind it takes place under the lights of a drive in movie theatre… quite popular in America at the time.
10/20

Ready For The Sale

Cars had become popular and so had car dealerships and car salesman were a hot commodity with American muscle leading the way.
11/21 The Cowboy Cometh

Nothing screams America more than the flag draped around college kids with aviators on a sandy beach near a lake somewhere having brews.
12/21

Sunshine

The fear of nuclear war was prevalent in everyday life. This scene depicts the dystopian reality that bombs were just across the way, that war had just ended and could restart any day.
13/21

End Of The Road

One of my favorite pieces in the collection. Serene, laid-back, real, and dishevled. This one just feels like anywhere in middle america that you drove, you'd find.
14/21

Palmside Valley

Teens, kids, families all hanging out in the valley. I could have sworn I've seen my aunts and uncles with this exact photo of their summers in LA. Extra legs included
15/21 On The Top

one of my favorite pieces in the collection depicting African-American fast food worker. Perfect light and shadowing, I cannot belive this is A.I.
16/21

Nature onslaught

Actual west america. Homes with pools overlooking the rockies... lot of pools in this collection which were a mainstay of American life way back when.
17/21

Well Informed

A sleeper pick... the gossip place during the first invent of TVs making their way into everyone's homes. Women would hang out while their husbands went to work.
18/21

No Warrior
19/21

Sunday Service. Yea... american life was all about that fast food.. and the extra 10 hands show the extra 10 meals everyone wanted.
20/21

Parallel Reality

a posh family wedding. The A.I. really outdid itself.
21/21 Sexist Fantasy

Speaks for itself
