I read The 4-Hour Work Week when I was 17.
It taught me lessons at the time that I'd never seen anywhere else.
Here are 7 lessons from the book “The 4-Hour Work Week” that will change how you see the world:

Here are 7 lessons from the book “The 4-Hour Work Week” that will change how you see the world:
1. The purpose of life is enjoyment
Life isn’t meant to be spent slaving away in an office for 40 years, nor is it meant to be working for yourself.
Life isn’t meant to be spent slaving away in an office for 40 years, nor is it meant to be working for yourself.
Life is meant to be enjoyed, you should build your career, hobbies, and relationships around what brings you enjoyment in life and makes you feel good
Whether that’s working in an office for 40 years or working for yourself from a beach.
Whether that’s working in an office for 40 years or working for yourself from a beach.
2. What you do matters
It doesn’t matter how well you do something if that thing isn’t important
You can do all the unimportant things as efficiently and effectively as you want
But unless you’re doing all the important things just as efficiently and effectively, its pointless

3. The goal isn’t always money
Everybody thinks they want more money - and we do
You want more money because of what it provides; whether that’s freedom, security, or power.
Don’t be ashamed of wanting to earn more money, but understand your deeper reason behind it.

4. Utilise Parkinsons Law
Parkinsons law states that “a task will expand to fill the time allocated to it”
People often give themselves far more time than they need

People often give themselves far more time than they need
But if you can keep your deadlines tight and utilise parkinsons law, you will get much more done in less time
And since getting more done in less time will require more focus, your work will likely be of higher quality

5. Eliminate the unnecessary
We all have tasks that we don’t want to do, but that we feel necessary
And often we jump to trying to outsource or delegate that task when in reality, the task could be completely eliminated.

6. Find the demand
Most people try to build a product, service or offer and then try to find the market for it, they try to build the demand
It’s much easier to find the problem that a market is having and then building the product, service or offer that fills that demand.

7. Use the 80/20 rule for an easier life
We all know by now that 80% of your results comes from 20% of your effort
But did you know that 20% of the sources of your problems cause 80% of your problems?
Figure out these sources and remove them.
