Any recs for great academic books or articles or whatever on/that deal with repetition? Novel structures/forms? I'm finding myself really wanting to write about repetition, but what comes out is just too, well, repetitious.

This was unexpectedly helpful to me: Cohesion in English by MAK Halliday and Ruqaiya Hasan. One of the principal forms of cohesion is repetition. The entire concept of cohesion is massively underconsidered imo!

Raymond Queneau’s Exercises in Style tells the same simple anecdote 99 different ways. I used it to teach repetition back when I did such things. Students sure loved it.
