Graduated from the University of Michigan with a film and video degree. Got into advertising in the Detroit area before earning an MFA in film from The Peter Stark Producing Program at the University of Southern California. Worked as an intern in Marvel Comics' west coast office and later hired to write episodes of the TV series X-Men: Evolution.
