Have you ever taken against a book, given up on it, but then, at another time in your life, given it another shot and loved it?

My dad started reading me Lord of the Rings when I was ill (age 10 or so) & when I got better I tried to carry on with it, but he'd made light of the long sentences & it was too much of a trudge. Tried again age 17 and loved it, have read it again since too.
