This entire thread from @DKThomp is spot on. In between Pollyanna bury your head in the sand and despair is the space for wise hope, which leads to wise action. Grounded hope is hard. It's scary. It makes you realize it might NOT work. But it's ALWAYS better than despair.

This is a great read. One of my coaching clients passed it along to me. He is one of the most accomplished people you could imagine. And yet, and yet. There's also this: I experience many of these traps too. It's an ongoing practice to overcome them.

The best article I've read in a very long time. The new online guru bounces from one contrarian ideology to the next, picking up and shilling fads along the way. There's always a need to be special and in the know. The result is often a disaster.

When I first started coaching I asked a lot of ‘smart questions’ and 98 percent of the time they were were borne out of my own insecurity. This is such an important piece by @DKThomp:

100 percent. If you haven't already, see Neil Postman "Amusing Ourselves to Death." I think it is the most important book for our era.

This is a great book for people who care deeply about their parenting AND their craft. @DrYaelSchonbrun reaches far beyond the myth of work-life balance and introduces more useful concepts and tools. Life is messy. Caring deeply about multiple things is hard. This book helps.
