Equal Rites, when it came out. A Wizard of Earthsea was my favourite book, so the parallels really drew me in. (And Douglas Adams was another favourite, so the voice clinched it.)
so i've now watched all of Wednesday season 1 and... it's visually beautiful, obviously; it's well written and scripted; the main mystery/plot is suitably twisty and weird; Jenna Ortega is absolutely perfect
