Esra Özyürek is the Sultan Qaboos Professor in Abrahamic Faiths and Shared Values in the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge. She is an anthropologist and the author of Nostalgia for the Modern: State Secularism and Everyday Politics in Turkey (Duke University Press 2007).
