This is long, but a good piece on a terrible subject. I don't agree with everything in it, but I appreciate the attempt to view the nuance, grey areas and humanity.

It's a wonderful read. Well worth your time picking up. When I am done with this Viking series I'd love to have @CatJarman on the HHA podcast for a sort of post-mortem conversation. There will certainly be stuff that would benefit from an expert's perspective!

Places like the RAND corporation and other nuclear think tanks have studied this problem for decades. Whether their conclusions are correct is debatable. @fmkaplan s book “The Wizards of Armageddon” is a great read if you like this stuff (and if you haven’t already read it).

Check out his other fantastic book “The Wizards of Armageddon” which details the attempts to get great intelligences together to try to formulate how to deal with these unbelievably powerful weapons. @fmkaplan

I should've known this would provide some fun conversation!😂 I already answered someone else in a little more depth so I'm just gonna post this wonderful book on the subject.

Boxing is the only sport that likely bucks this trend.The reasons why are explained in "The Arc of Boxing" by Mike Silver (and the reasons are fascinating).Silver has lots of boxing experts and boxers giving oral info in the book. Worth a read if you like these sort of questions.
