The story of @cgwtf rescuing his neighbor's art after he passed away still makes me smile. Sure, the whole "outsider artist" narrative is a bit of a mixed bag, but I'd much rather art find a home that's not in a garbage dump. ❤️‍🔥🙏 The @saatchi_gallery show looks great, Alan!

Reading yet another history of generative art that skips from 1970s to 2020, rather than complain I'd like to recommend @manovich's 2004 text "Abstraction and Complexity", in which he lays out the context generative art of the early 2000s was informed by.

“There is no cow on the ice” “Who peed on your sugar toast?” Excellent thread of Danish idioms, many of which have variants in Norwegian / Swedish.

Interesting thread about copyright and DCMA in the NFT space. Efforts to block copyminting and deceptive releases should not limit artistic freedom.

Two weeks ago I released Moonbirds after @kevinrose stated he was working with @opensea to take down any collections with Moonbirds in the name. This was conceptual art where the intent was to highlight the heavy handed-ness of trademark and DMCA cla

Excellent interview with @molly0xFFF laying out major concerns around blockchain + crypto: Over-engineering, solutionism, privacy and abuse, data permanence, financial speculation... AKA things that puts web3 right in line with other tech "disruption".
