Born with spina bifida, a birth defect in the spinal cord, James LeBrecht is a disability rights activist and filmmaker. He found empowerment and community at Camp Jened, a summer camp for teens with disabilities, and later became a member of Disabled in Action. He played a key role in forming the Disabled Student Union at the University of California, San Diego.
