Yes, Star Trek TNG is one of the best sci-fi shows ever made, or perhaps one of the best shows ever made period. No other show takes the viewer through such satisfying tours in philosophy, ethics and futurism. The problem, ofc, is getting Yo Gurl to feel the same way.

Spot on! And brilliant piece by @interfluidity. You mention that bitcoin leverages part of this, I agree. Sometimes my only fear is that bitcoin doesn’t sufficiently leverage all of it—the magic and the lie, the sugar pill and the placebo.

What a good read. Thanks for this writeup! Only thing that confused me was the initial cost comparison bit. This seems to talk about the offchain ZK proof *generation*, when what really matters for user tx costs are the proof *verification* costs (what Ethereum charges for).
