Nicholas Rivers is the Canada Research Chair in Climate and Energy Policy. His research focuses on the economic evaluation of environmental policies, using econometric and computational methods. He has received awards for his research from the Trudeau Foundation, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council, and the National Science and Engineering Research Council. He currently serves as a co-editor of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. He earned his Master's and doctorate degrees in Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, and also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Jose G. Vallarino is an agronomist engineer. He holds a PhD in sciences and agronomical sciences from the University of Málaga, Spain and University of Talca, Chile. He started his research career in Chile studying the problematic of volatile compounds related to detrimental flavours in grapevines and red wines. During this time, he was also granted to perform two international research stays (NYSAES, Cornell University, USA and Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (MPI-MP, Germany) where he starts applying metabolomics on his research. Currently, on his second postdoctoral studies at MPI-MP (under supervision of Prof. Dr Alisdair Fernie), he is using a wide range of “System biology” approaches, including high throughput- GC/MS and LC/MS/MS-based metabolomics techniques, use of bioinformatics tools and mathematical models in order to develop, testing and applying novel-constraint models that predicts the capacity of the metabolic networks of different plant tissues. He has also been implemented a metabolic engineering strategy of unprecedented scale in plants in an attempt to remove flux bottleneck from across the metabolic network.
Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science in environmental health sciences from Harvard University, a Master of Science from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University at Albany, SUNY.

Brandon Schaufele is an Associate Professor in Business, Economics and Public Policy at the Ivey Business School. Prior to coming to Ivey in 2014, Brandon was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Ottawa as well as the Research Director of Sustainable Prosperity. Brandon's research focuses on the links between firms, governments and civil society. Topical emphasis is on corporate political activity, agricultural economics, environmental economics and competition policy. Recent research has concentrated on how consumers and firms respond to major Canadian greenhouse gas emission reduction initiatives and the role of executives in election campaigns. Among other places, he has published papers in the American Economics Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and the Canadian Journal of Economics.
